The 21-year-old barista from Kentucky went viral after recounting a particularly surprising exchange he had with a customer he believed had transitioned, adding that the experience has made him more understanding of transgender people.

In the clip, which garnered nine million views, Lucas said the unnamed woman in question mistook him for a transgender woman, before telling him: “God can get you out of this.”
