Madison Straub, 17, was involved in a car accident after driving alone before being airlifted to a hospital where she died days later.

A 17-year-old Massachusetts high school senior who died after a car accident is being remembered by her family and community as the “girl with the most contagious smile.”

Madison Straub crashed into a tree in the Duxbury neighborhood while driving alone, the Duxbury Police Department said.

First responders arrived at the scene around 12:20 a.m. Saturday morning, where the teen was found unconscious and trapped inside the car.

The unconscious student was freed using the Jaws of Life before being taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries.

The Pembroke girl eventually died days later on Monday night, and authorities have since said they have launched an investigation into the crash.

His aunt, Corey Straub, started a Fundraising to the Straub family and said, ‘Madison Straub touched the lives of everyone she came across. She will always be remembered as the girl with the most contagious smile, the beautiful soul and the passion for travel.’

She added that with the loss of Madison’s father, Reed Straub, in 2019, they were “two beautiful souls gone too soon.”

“It breaks my heart to see our family suffer another loss… The world will never be the same without that beautiful little girl,” she wrote.

All proceeds will go toward sending the family on a healing getaway and covering funeral expenses, and so far, more than $4,000 has been raised for the grieving family.

The teenager had planned a family getaway to Aruba to celebrate her high school graduation before the fatal crash.

Now, the family will make the trip together to celebrate the life of their beloved daughter and sister.

In addition to Madison’s family, Duxbury police shared their “deepest condolences… to the friends and family” of the deceased teen.

Madison’s family said NBC10 Boston Since the Silver Lake High School senior was also an organ donor, six people will receive organs, including her heart.

The community came together to support the family and mourn the loss of the teenager by organizing fundraisers and a candlelight vigil at her workplace.

A non-profit volunteer organization from Pembroke, Hobomock Parent Teacher Associationshared a post in honor of the teen sharing fundraisers to help those mourning the “amazing, beautiful young lady.”

A neighbor commented on the post: “She was an amazing person, very hard working, always with a big smile and an amazing spirit. My heart goes out to the family and all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She lives on in all of us!!!”

Blackbird Bakery Company. have volunteered to donate 100 percent of their profits from the Pembroke Farmers Market on Sept. 21 to the grieving family.

A candlelight vigil was held last night at the baseball field where Madison worked and was organized by Pembroke Youth Baseball and Softball.

George Howe, a member of the board that organized the vigil, told Boston 25 News that after working closely with the teen, he realized he was “going the distance.”
