The horrific attack was filmed by several bystanders who watched as the 13-year-old girl was surrounded by thugs at Gyro Beach in Kelowna.

The girl was allegedly lured to the beach by a friend and attacked around 8:30 pm on Friday.

In the video, an attacker is seen jumping on her while grabbing her by the hair, while she suffers multiple blows to the face.

Later in the video, another attacker kicks the 13-year-old girl in the head, rendering her unconscious. Another young man proceeded to kick dirt over his limp body.

The crowd cheered during the attack and several phones captured this brutal ambush, the content of which was then shared on social media platforms.

The girl’s father, Donovan, who did not reveal his last name to protect his daughter’s identity, said CTV News Vancouver who wants criminal charges filed against her daughter’s attackers.

She told them that the group had snatched her daughter’s phone at the beginning of the attack and then threw it over her body once she was knocked unconscious.

“I saw two minutes of my daughter almost beaten to death, like 20 or 30 kids who just decided it was better for them to record it and laugh at her.”

Donovan said she was taken to the hospital where it was revealed she suffered bruising to her ribs and a concussion, but even worse are the emotional scars.

The father told CTV News Vancouver: “Mentally, she started therapy and I don’t know how long it will take for her to trust or want to be outside again.”

The Kelowna Royal Canadian Mounted Police held a press conference On Wednesday. Sergeant Laura Pollock confirmed that 30 young people had been present and recording.

He also confirmed that the attack was targeted.

Pollock said two young men tried to intervene. One called the police and the other tried to stop the assault.

Pollock pleaded with the public to stop circulating the video that spread throughout the Kelowna community.

The identity of the attackers and the victim has not been revealed as they are minors and are protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act and the Canada Privacy Act.

Both laws protect the privacy of young offenders, victims and witnesses by prohibiting the publication of their identity.
