At the time, he said he would see his mother while “celebrating birthdays and some holidays,” but as for his father, he said he had no “individual contact with him.”

“My relationship with my father became quite toxic to the point that we had to cut off individual contact with him,” she shared.

“It got to the point where Derick was there to step in and say, ‘Hey, don’t contact my wife individually or I’ll have to file a protective order,’ just because it was too difficult for me to deal with.

At the time, he said he was “hoping for a reconciliation” but said there had to be a “change” first.

“Ultimately, we love our family and I would love for my kids to have their grandparents more involved in their lives, but we also want to make sure it’s a healthy relationship,” she said.

Derick said he thought it was when his son, Freddy, was born in July 2022, to which Jill added: ‘Was that it? Or was it a wedding? I do not remember.
