The screen goddess cried when talking about being able to spend time with peacemakers she admired, like Betty Helena Williams, a Welsh Labor politician.

“These people are so brave… I suddenly felt like I was in the right damn room, these are my people, I would stand on the street with these people, I would risk my life with these people, they catch me and I get them,” he said the star in tears.

“It took me 35 years but I’m in the right room,” he said of working with his heroes.

It was almost 35 years ago that he got his first taste of fame when he made his first massive film, Total Recall with Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1990.

“I never told people here in Los Angeles that I went to get a Nobel Prize… I thought: how can I tell people in the movie business that I won a Nobel Prize?” He cried for the 2013 victory.

Stone also addressed mental health and how so many people need help in her wide-ranging interview.

“We are all trying to face our demons, including me,” he said, noting that one in 10 people are suffering, which was highlighted by the COVID-19 lockdown, when many had to spend time alone.

Much of the interview was about her new career as a prominent painter.

He spends 17 hours a day painting in his Los Angeles mansion and takes his work seriously. His first painting sold for $30,000.

When Alex asked her why she paints, Sharon said, “I was really thinking about this the other day…I was thinking about how rarely women get to be what they want to be,” she shared.

“I loved painting when I was a kid,” said the Beauty Of Living Twice author, who grew up in Pennsylvania.

“When I was in college I was 15 years old, I was in an advanced studies program and I got a writing scholarship, and I loved writing and painting, and I didn’t want to go home during the summer holidays. And I studied painting during the summers, I loved watercolors.’

During his interview, he also revealed that he had a lifelong interest in working with Robert De Niro.

As for working in Hollywood again, he said the role would have to be “really good.” And in the future he might visit Scotland, he told host Salmond; he said he would help her learn a thick Scottish accent.
