Troubled AFL star Sam Fisher’s former teammates have joined him as he awaits sentencing after pleading guilty to trafficking a kilogram of methamphetamine earlier this month.
The 41-year-old appeared in Victoria County Court on April 4 via video link, where he formally pleaded guilty to six charges.
They include trafficking a large commercial quantity of methamphetamine, trafficking cocaine and possession of drugs such as LSD, ketamine and testosterone.
Fisher, a former All-Australian and two-time St Kilda best and fairest, arranged for a package containing one kilogram of methylamphetamine and 84 grams of cocaine to be sent from Melbourne to Perth.

He has spent the last 18 months receiving treatment for drug addiction at a rehabilitation center and faces up to five years and four months in prison.
But despite his shocking crimes, his teammates from his St Kilda days have refused to turn their backs on him.
On Thursday, Saints star Steven Baker posted a photo on Instagram showing him and several other big names from the club smiling as they enjoyed a beer with Fisher in South Melbourne.
Fisher was joined by Stephen Milne, Nick Dal Santo, Sam Gilbert, Zac Dawson, Jack Steven, Jason Gram and Robert Eddy in the photo, which was accompanied by the caption: “So many good times with these guys, some s**t too “. some, but companions for life.
The defender played 228 games for the club from 2004 to 2016, winning the team’s best and fairest award in 2008, the same year he became an All Australian.
The 41-year-old excelled in his 228-game career with the Saints, earning All Australian honors and taking home the club’s best and fairest award.
He also played in the Saints’ back-to-back grand final defeats in 2009 and 2010.
Fisher arranged for a package containing one kilogram of methylamphetamine and 84 grams of cocaine to be shipped from Melbourne to Perth.
The drugs, hidden inside an extractor hood, were seized by WA Police on April 20, 2022.
Police then arrested Fisher on May 18 and searched his home in Hampton, southeast of Melbourne.
More than 13 grams of methylamphetamine and nearly two liters of 1,4-butanediol, in addition to other drugs, were seized.
Fisher has spent 18 months in a rehabilitation center while battling drug addiction.
Fisher first came to the attention of police in April 2022, after a “suspicious package” in Western Australia was found to contain $129,000 in cash.
The shipment was sent by Julien Morvan, 35, from Perth, and police later identified and intercepted a second large package addressed to Morvan.
The box contained a extractor hood purchased from a Harvey Norman store in Melbourne, with 996g of methamphetamine and 82g of cocaine hidden inside.
On Morvan’s phone, police found text messages with a contact called “Fish”, Sam Fisher, who picked up the extractor hood and delivered it to Morvan’s father’s store in Melbourne.
Crown prosecutor Melissa Mahady told the court the messages reveal Fisher at least knew what was inside the fume hood and likely packaged the drugs himself.
