Lisa Vanderpump has responded to Jax Taylor’s claim that Vanderpump Rules is scripted.
The TV personality, 63, who owns the Vanderpump restaurant at the center of the reality show, called Jax’s, 44, claim “ridiculous.”
“I think it’s absolutely ridiculous to say ‘script,'” Lisa said. Entertainment tonight in a new interview. “No one can write a script like Vanderpump Rules.”
He went on to humorously suggest that perhaps Jax, who recently made a cameo on the show after being fired in 2020, will write his own scripts for the show.
‘Maybe what Jax says is written. He might sit at home, in his little bedroom, and write his own scripts. Well, what do I know? Anyway, for the most part, everything Jax says doesn’t make any sense to me.

Her comments are in response to a video of Jax at a recent viewing party for the series and its new spinoff, The Valley, both of which Lisa executive produces, at Jax’s bar in Studio City, California.
He was seen commenting on an episode of VPR and repeated several times that the show is “scripted.”
“They don’t even hang out,” he was seen telling the crowd in a clip captured by Tik Tok user Kate Riccio. ‘Show me a scripted show and I’ll show you fucking Vanderpump Rules. Hyphenated! Hyphenated!’
“I’ve been on this show for nine fucking years, this is written.”
‘I’ll be on the show next week and I’ll tell you what: it was written!’ she added.
And he continued: ‘This is disastrous. Don’t get me wrong, when we started, it was amazing. As far as seasons 1 to 6, it was organic, it was real.”
‘Now everyone starts having money, now it becomes fake. “Everything after six seasons is a wash, it’s a fucking wash.”
Then when The Valley started, he said, ‘Now you’ve got a real show! Back to where we started. It’s organic, it’s real.’
After the video went viral, Jax shared that he was “embarrassed” by what he said during an episode of his podcast with ex-wife Brittany Cartwright, When Reality Hits.
I have a big mouth and that gets me into trouble from time to time. Unfortunately, I ranted about how Vanderpump Rules is written. “I’m incredibly embarrassed by that,” he said.

He went on to say that the show was one of the “most authentic” reality shows out there.
It comes after things got off to a tense start on the latest episode of Vanderpump Rules when Jax made a brief return to the series.
On Tuesday’s episode, which aired the same night as Jax’s spinoff series The Valley, he had a conflict with the series’ namesake Lisa after he and his former co-star James Kennedy hosted a brunch at her restaurant SUR.
Lisa, who last month attributed Jax’s split from his wife Brittany to his “bad behavior,” was particularly outraged by his brashness, having said she was simply a “prop” on these shows in recent seasons for a interview on The Toast podcast. in 2023.
Jax indicated he wasn’t afraid of his former boss’ outrage as he gloated in front of James.
“I’m not going to bow down to her, because you own some restaurants in Hollywood, come on?” she said, through Too Fab.
‘Why are we having a Jax Taylor-hosted brunch? Jax Taylor has been very disrespectful to me publicly. How did this get away? —Lisa asked, fiercely, the manager of her restaurant on the day of the brunch.
He continued to vent about Jax, who was fired from Vanderpump Rules in 2020 with his ex-wife, during a confessional interview.
“Jax has been pretty damaging to me in the past and Lord knows I’ve given that man a lot of chances,” he said. “But if you’re going to publicly deny me, why are you coming to have an event at my restaurant?”
On Tuesday, Taylor’s Vanderpump Rules reunion got off to a rocky start with an argument with Lisa, when she criticized him as a “fucking hypocrite.”
Lisa was particularly upset about Jax showing up at her business after he called her nothing more than a ‘prop’ in the later seasons of VR during a 2023 appearance on The Toast.
Despite James’ collaboration with Jax, Lisa didn’t seem to be all that cold towards him and sat next to him once he arrived at SUR for brunch.
But the prodigal son received a much colder reception from her when he returned to the telegenic restaurant and asked if he could sit near the owner.
“If you have to,” Lisa replied dismissively, to which he added, “If you don’t mind.”
But she “kinda” cared, admitting that she “didn’t even want you to be here, to be honest.”
“The way you come here expecting everything to be cool and cozy and here you are on a podcast saying, ‘Lisa is an accessory, she’s not necessary, she’s superfluous,'” he unloaded.
Jax had an airhead moment when he admitted that he didn’t know what “superfluous” meant, which was just the summary of his comments on The Toast, although it seemed to be accurate.
During that previous podcast appearance, he claimed that she had become “a support right now” on her own show.
“I don’t mean that in a negative way, but let’s be honest… She’s not bringing anything to the show anymore,” he said, seemingly in a negative way.
However, Lisa counterattacked by mocking him for his own superfluity in Vanderpump Rules.
“I could have responded and said in the press that the only person who wasn’t needed on the show was you,” he said.
That led Jax to explain that his comments were partly because he was “disturbed” that Lisa had supposedly never “checked in” on how he and Brittany were doing after they were fired from the series.

“You wrote me off,” he added accusingly.
“You’re a fucking hypocrite,” Lisa responded, now furious, before Jax half-heartedly apologized in case he ever “said something wrong in the heat of the moment.”
Lisa went on to state that she had no desire to go public with ‘all the shit you talk about me’, but felt the need to do so since he was associating her name with his ‘business’ again.
That opening moment seemed to help the two bury the hatchet, at least temporarily, and they reached an armistice with a hug.
Jax even went so far as to say that he “loves[d]’ her former boss, although Lisa didn’t let the segment end on that saccharine note.
“I love you too, even though you’re fucking annoying,” he joked.
