Drama unfolded on Sunday night’s episode of Farmer Wants a Wife when Farmer Dean received a text message about one of the contestants vying to win her love.
But it seems some viewers have turned their backs on the Channel Seven show for allegedly getting too close to the drama Married At First Sight.
Fans took to social media to express their dismay following recent episodes that suggested a contestant had a secret boyfriend.
“Don’t turn this show into MAFS,” one devoted viewer pleaded beneath an Instagram post stirring up the drama.
Another disgruntled fan didn’t mince his words, saying, “I’m going to turn it off if this show starts turning into something like MAFS.” Don’t ruin a good show. There’s enough rubbish on television already.’

But it appears audiences have turned their backs on the Channel Seven show for allegedly coming too close to the drama-soaked Married At First Sight.
This stern warning highlights a growing concern that the introduction of a MAFS-like drama could tarnish the show’s reputation and alienate its core audience.
The controversy reached a boiling point when one viewer questioned the credibility of the secret boyfriend claim, pointing out an apparent plot hole.
‘Did this dobber have the farmer’s phone number to text him? Oh please don’t turn this show into a trash reality show,” another angry fan wrote.

It comes after Tom’s Farm’s Tiffany let slip that there was talk of a texting scandal involving Teegan.
Tiffany then went directly to Dean to ask if he had received a message and, if so, what it was about.
“Yeah, yeah, I got a message…and Teegan, it’s about you,” he said awkwardly, turning to Teegan, who was sitting directly next to him.
‘We can see it?’ Tiffany asked, as Dean pulled out her phone to read the message.
The scandal broke on Sunday’s episode of Farmer Wants A Wife. Farmer Dean (pictured) was forced to confront his love interest Teegan after receiving an explosive anonymous text message.
It said, “I hope you see this in time.” But Teegan, who you’re currently filming Farmer Wants A Wife with, has a boyfriend. She could be cheating on you. The farmer in love with her went after her, the couple hugged each other and the unfortunate incident only brought them closer.
“It says, ‘I hope you see this in time, but Teegan has a boyfriend, she might be cheating on you, she’s in love with someone back home.'”
‘That’s the message I got. And says…’
Dean didn’t have time to finish his sentence before Teegan got up and stormed off without saying a word, bursting into tears.
“It really bothered me to see her cry,” Dean admitted.
