Arsenal have reportedly targeted RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko and Mikel Arteta is aiming to add firepower to his squad this summer.
A top striker has been identified as a priority for Arsenal this summer, despite the Gunners being the Premier League’s second-highest scorers this season.
Arsenal’s desire for a striker was further highlighted when the Gunners drew blanks against Aston Villa and Bayern Munich in their last two matches.
Arteta’s side were beaten 2-0 by Aston Villa in a blow to their Premier League hopes, while a 1-0 defeat to Bayern left Arsenal out of the Champions League on Wednesday.
According to the Evening StandardArsenal have been scouting Sesko ahead of the summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta is expected to strengthen his squad this summer by signing a centre-forward.
The 20-year-old striker has scored 13 goals in 27 games for RB Leipzig this season and started 13 times in his debut season in the Bundesliga.
Sesko, who stands 6ft 4in, has scored six goals in his last 11 Bundesliga games after forcing his way into the starting lineup in the second half of the season.
Arsenal will reportedly face competition from Chelsea and Man United for the striker, who has a €50m (£42.7m) release clause this summer.
Sesko’s representatives have reportedly been guests of both Premier League clubs this season.
The Slovenian international has earned comparisons with Man City star Erling Haaland after following his path from RB Salzburg to RB Leipzig.
Sesko played down comparisons with Haaland when he joined the Bundesliga side for €20m (£17m) last summer.
Personally I don’t like comparisons very much,” Sesko said after signing for RB Leipzig.
‘Erling is an absolutely world-class striker. I enjoy watching his games on TV and obviously I pay attention to what he does in different game situations, but like I already said: I’m a completely different type of player.”
Sesko has scored 13 goals for RB Leipzig since moving to the Bundesliga last summer.
Sesko, who previously highlighted his ability to play as a goal, admitted that he has idolized Zlatan Ibrahimovic since he was a child.
The striker scored 29 goals in 79 appearances for RB Salzburg before moving to the Bundesliga last summer.
The striker has also scored 11 goals in 28 games for the Slovenian national team, five of them in qualifying for Euro 2024.
Sesko is expected to be a key player for Slovenia this summer when they face England, Denmark and Serbia in the group stage in Germany.
