A bus passenger has recalled the “senseless” and “disgusting” moment when a teenage girl allegedly violently punched an elderly fellow passenger.
Queensland resident Vanessa Cossettini was waiting for a bus in Capalaba, in the town of Redland, about 25 kilometers southeast of Brisbane, on Tuesday morning.
Ms Cossettini was waiting at the bus stop when she noticed a 15-year-old girl allegedly attacking an elderly passenger on the 264 bus at around 9:15am.
In a video shared on TikTok on Tuesday, Cossettini called the teen’s behavior “absolutely mental.”

“An old lady started getting hit by this woman, and I ran towards the bus and started yelling ‘open the door, open the door,’ and the lady on the bus couldn’t because she wanted to keep the aggressive lady on the bus.” said Mrs. Cossettini.
“The lady started bleeding, I hit her from behind, I pulled her hair, we threw her.”
He added that the police were called and the bus driver finally opened the doors. However, that was when the teenager focused her attention on Mrs. Cossettini.
“And then he started attacking me just because I look rich,” Ms. Cossettini said.
“Thank you to the man who protected me, thank you to the security guard who finally got there and to the police officer who put her in the back of the car.”
Fighting back tears, Cossettini explained that she was filming until she got scared and left the scene when the teenager threatened her.
The footage shows two network agents talking to the girl before she realizes that Cossettini is filming.
“No shit, I know the police think the worst, bro, it’s fucking annoying,” the teen said.
Turning to Mrs. Cossettini, the girl shouted, “You too, you little idiot, luckily I don’t come to you and rush you.”
Mrs Cossettini called the teenager’s (pictured) behavior “absolutely mental” and “disgusting”. She claimed the teen even tried to assault her because she looked “rich.”
Social media users asked about the elderly woman’s condition and expressed their solidarity with her and those who witnessed the attack.
Mrs Cossettini described the incident as “traumatic” and was disgusted by the actions of the alleged criminal who hit an elderly person.
‘That attacks people in general, much less elderly women who cannot defend themselves. Hearing her ask for help… traumatic,” she said.
The 15-year-old was charged with one count of felony assault on a person over 60 years of age and one count of assault causing bodily injury while armed.
The elderly woman suffered serious head injuries and was taken by paramedics to the Mater Hospital.
The teen was denied bail and will face Cleveland Youth Court on Wednesday.
