Cheryl, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts appeared on Scott Mills’ Radio 2 show on Monday when discussing their upcoming reunion tour.
A video posted to BBC Radio 2’s Instagram page showed the interview descending into chaos after Scott innocently asked the band if they would perform. Some new covers on the tour.
Nicola was the first to respond, insisting: “I don’t think we have room”, only for Cheryl to intervene and tell Scott: “I’ve said it several times, people like it!”

Nadine, however, was on the opposite side and interrupted to say: “I was totally against it. I think we had as many Girls Aloud songs as we did our own. Why do we have to do it?’
“But we can just add a random cover, it’s fun!” Cheryl responded.
Scott hilariously told listeners: ‘You guys are coming together because there’s a slight disagreement with Girls Aloud about whether you should do covers or just the hits. We’ll be back after this…’
The video then continued as the girls continued talking to each other, with Scott explaining: ‘Girls Aloud are here and they’re still discussing whether they’re going to do a cover or just their hits. Have we already reached an agreement?
An exasperated Cheryl continued: “I’m not saying we shouldn’t do anything,” before pleading “guys” when she was interrupted again.
While mediating, Scott told Cheryl to talk, who explained, “I think we should do everything and… for three more minutes.”
‘But how long does the show last? Five hours?’ Scott noted, prompting Nadine to declare ‘exactly!’
“We’re going to have to raise our hands again,” Scott joked.

Cheryl had first ruled out the possibility of a Girls Aloud reunion while the group was still together, uttering the quote in her documentary series Off The Record in 2006.

Cheryl revealed they had been discussing plans for some time but put the idea on ice when Sarah Harding, who died in September 2021, was diagnosed with cancer.
She said in a statement: “We all started talking about the possibility of doing something to celebrate Girls Aloud’s 20th anniversary a few years ago. The anniversary seemed like an obvious thing we would celebrate.
‘But when Sarah became ill, all priorities changed. She passed away a year before her anniversary and she just didn’t seem right to me, she seemed too soon to me.”
The group plans to use the tour to “celebrate” their late friend.
