However, the Frenchman’s shot was cleared by Andy Robertson and the score remained level.
Palace should have doubled their lead in the second half, again through Mateta, but Alisson was on hand to stop them.

Before the game, Jamie Carragher highlighted how important the Brazilian is for Liverpool.
He said: “I think it’s huge to have Alisson back.” Kelleher has been fantastic but you are talking about one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
“When you see Alisson in goal, I think that will affect your confidence a little bit.”
And now he has lived up to his pre-match words, keeping Liverpool within reach of completing a comeback.
