Kmart Australia has relaunched its popular microwave slippers and while they’re a top-selling purchase, not everyone agrees.
The $20 OXX Essentials Microwavable Slippers have previously been deemed a “must have” item for winter and flew off the shelves.
Now, this affordable buy is once again available in two shades – white and pink – but opinions were divided with many saying they would never put shoes in the microwave.
Bella, from Adelaide, spotted the latest purchase while browsing her local store and grabbed a pair.
“Kmart has done it again with microwaveable slippers for winter,” she wrote on TikTok and shared a now-viral image. video.

However, opinions were divided on whether it is hygienic to put slippers in the microwave.
The short video quickly caught the attention of the masses with many declaring that they “can’t wait to run to Kmart.”
‘I need these!’ one said, another wrote: “Looks like I’m going to Kmart tomorrow.”
“Man I love being Australian sometimes,” added a third.
Someone else said, ‘Now let’s go to Kmart.’
However, many others questioned why anyone would want to put slippers in the microwave where food is placed.
“Putting them in the microwave to heat up the food… I just couldn’t,” said one.
“They would make the microwave stink,” wrote another.
“I have these, they are comfortable but you don’t walk in them,” one more pointed out, another said: “But I put my food in the microwave, not in my shoes.”
But Bella reassured her: ‘You don’t put the entire shoe in the microwave.’
According to the website, the product helps “relieve tired feet” and may help with foot pain or sprains.
The soft faux leather is made of polyester, while the inner cover of the bag is made of cotton.
