Oleksandr Usyk’s ‘Ready to Fight’ app has announced a strategic partnership with the Saudi Arabian Boxing Federation ahead of next month’s undisputed heavyweight title fight with Tyson Fury.

The Ready to Fight app, which was launched by the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion in November 2023, helps facilitate communication and collaboration between boxers, sparring partners, trainers and managers.

The app has already proven effective in the build-up to Usyk’s undisputed heavyweight title fight at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia on May 18 as part of the Riyadh season.

Since January, more than 40 training partners have been selected through the Ready to Fight app and invited to camp ahead of the Ukrainian’s undisputed title fight against the Gypsy King.

Usyk and the ‘Ready to Fight’ team hope that the partnership with the Saudi Arabian Boxing Federation will help take the app, which already has around 120,000 registered users, to the next level.

The partnership between Ready to Fight and the Saudi Arabian Boxing Federation will mainly focus on talent scouting and the participation of top boxing professionals in the Federation’s programs and projects.

Additionally, both parties will work together to promote boxing and develop boxing education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which has hosted several major boxing events including Battle of the Baddest, The Day of Reckoning and Knockout Chaos.

Speaking about the partnership, Usyk said: “As a world champion who began his journey from humble beginnings, I am intimately familiar with the challenges that await young athletes along the way.

‘Most of these problems are due to the lack of communication tools. Even boxing’s greatest champions could not achieve victory alone; Behind them there is always a team of coaches and physical trainers, managers, agents and fans who encourage them.’

The Ukrainian boxer added: ‘Digital technologies that break down barriers at borders could allow each fighter to find their own “boxing family” simply, quickly and safely. “I am pleased that Saudi Arabia is prepared to lead the way in implementing technology within the Kingdom’s boxing governing body.”

‘Now it has become really simple: you don’t need to call many people around the world when looking for training partners or other staff, you can do it with just a few clicks. Ready To Fight is our secret weapon in fight preparation.’

While Rasha Alkhamis, vice president of the Saudi Boxing Federation, said: “Saudi Arabia has solidified its position as a key player in the boxing industry, organizing exciting fights within the Kingdom.

‘Our current focus is developing local talent in the men’s and women’s divisions, our main focus is amateur boxing and we will soon start training Saudi professional boxers. Additionally, we are dedicated to providing them with all the elements necessary to connect with the global boxing community.”
