Claimant Christian Horner is reportedly “upset, scared and alone” after accusing the Red Bull boss of inappropriate behaviour, according to a family friend, and has been “breaking down in tears” unable to discuss the matter.
Formula One was rocked by allegations of coercive behavior by a woman on Horner’s staff, but an internal investigation involving a KC cleared him last month and he remained in charge for the first two races of the season.
Messages purported to be her exchanges with Horner, the 50-year-old husband of former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, were leaked the day after the investigation exonerated him.
Mail Sport revealed on Friday that the woman at the center of the ‘sexting’ scandal, who has since been suspended with full pay, had lodged an appeal against Red Bull’s findings.
Now, a friend of the accuser’s family has spoken out about the situation and shed light on her state of mind, having signed a legal commitment not to continue discussing the case.

“It’s impossible for people to understand what it’s like for her,” the friend said. BBC sport anonymously. ‘She can’t talk and she doesn’t want to talk.
But I can tell you what it’s doing to you. Every time I ask her something, she bursts into tears and says that she has no one to talk to because she is not allowed to talk.
“She’s very upset, very angry, very scared, very intimidated, very alone. And I think it’s impossible for people to understand without being in her shoes what it’s like for her.”
A Red Bull spokesperson added: A Red Bull spokesperson said: “Both (parties) signed a confidentiality agreement on this, so they cannot discuss it.”
