Several people were injured after a shooting at a school in Finland.
The incident took place early Tuesday at the Viertolan Koulu school in Vantaa, which has about 800 students, the Finnish police said in a statement.
Police were called to the primary school at 8:08am GMT and a suspect was detained, according to reports. Locals have been asked to stay away from the area.
‘Police are on scene investigating the incident. Passersby are asked to stay away from the area and inside. The door should not be opened to strangers,” the police said in a statement.
Vantaa is located about ten kilometers north of Helsinki, the capital of Finland, and is home to about 250,000 people.
