Driving down the street in his Toyota Prius, the two-time Emmy winner, 86, looked worried as he rolled down the window and took in the scene around him.
As he prepared to park in his own driveway in Holmby Hills, the director passed several law enforcement officers and an area blocked off with yellow crime scene tape.
At one point, he appeared to walk up to one of the officers on the sidewalk to ask him about the situation unfolding near his property.

According TMZ“agents and officers closed off the entire area with multiple helicopters circling the location” during the raid.
The outlet reported that Scott was one of Diddy’s neighbors who had been blocked from accessing their own homes and was seen stuck in traffic.
Diddy is currently at the center of sex trafficking allegations and sexual assault lawsuits.
On Tuesday, the music mogul was spotted at a Miami airport hours after Department of Homeland Security raids on his Miami and Los Angeles mansions.
Diddy was reportedly questioned by Customs agents at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, about 15 miles south of the investigation at his home, around 6 p.m. local time.
This followed suspicions that the tycoon had fled the country when his LoveAir LLC Gulfstream 5 private jet was tracked flying towards Antigua.
Combs was seen by witnesses with his entourage walking through the Customs office at the Miami airport, but was not detained or taken into custody.

The rapper, who faces mounting sexual harassment and rape claims, was nowhere to be found as officers searched his properties Monday afternoon, removing boxes and bags of evidence.
A police line was set up around the Los Angeles home in the wealthy Holmby Hills neighborhood near Beverly Hills, where at least two men were handcuffed.
Armed Department of Homeland Security agents entered luxury properties on the east and west coasts of the United States, with video footage showing helicopters hovering overhead.
The agents, who were wearing vests, gathered in the backyard of the house, near the pool. Several law enforcement officers were seen carrying bags and boxes of evidence to a van.
A command post was set up outside the home and officers were still coming and going hours after the search began.

A Homeland Security Investigations spokesperson told DailyMail.com in a statement: ‘Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami and our local staff. law enforcement partners.
“We will provide more information as it becomes available.”

There was no immediate official confirmation about what precipitated the raids.
Combs is among the most influential hip-hop producers and executives of the past three decades.
Formerly known as Puff Daddy, he built one of the largest empires in hip-hop, breaking ground with several entities linked to his famous name.
He is the founder of Bad Boy Records and a three-time Grammy winner who has worked with a host of top artists, including Notorious BIG, Mary J. Blige, Usher, Lil Kim, Faith Evans and 112.
