Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis took some time off the basketball court and stepped into the boxing ring with Jalen Walker.

In a clip from June 2023 that Walker and Top Rank reposted on Saturday, the Lakers big man was sparring with the undefeated boxer.

Wearing the Lakers’ purple and gold uniform with a gray sweater, Davis laughed in his corner before following the much smaller Walker around the ring. In the brief montage, Davis apparently had trouble landing a blow despite his vastly superior reach.

The 5-foot-8 Walker didn’t throw punches, but instead danced around the 6-foot-10 hoops star while wearing his helmet.

Skywalker is preparing to face Alejandro Guerrero on April 13. Walker has won four in a row since Ángel Contreras won in April 2021.

Davis has been around for most of this season and has only missed four games for the Lakers so far.

The former No. 1 pick is averaging 24.4 points, 12.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 55.5 percent from the field. The Lakers have a record of 38-32 and are in ninth place in the Western Conference.

Davis is the Lakers’ leader in rebounds and blocks this season, while LeBron James leads in points, assists and steals.

They have 12 games left in the regular season and will likely compete in the Play-in Tournament in April. Joining them in the entry panorama are the California teams, Golden State, in tenth place and Sacramento in eighth.

The heavily favored Phoenix Suns have also struggled to find their footing and occupy the seventh spot.
