Auburn’s Chad Baker-Mazara blasted officials midway through Friday’s shock loss to Yale, tweeting from the team’s locker room ‘yall lame’ after his ejection and before the Bulldogs’ 78-76 shock upset.
The 24-year-old forward picked up a flagrant 2 foul just three minutes into the first round after he elbowed Yale’s August Mahomes in the face, resulting in an automatic ejection.
After getting his marching orders, Baker-Mazara shared in a since-deleted post on X from somewhere inside the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena in Washington, presumably the team’s locker room: ‘Lmao yall lame,’ adding three laughing emojis at the end.
He then followed up with another tweet a few minutes later, writing: ‘I believe my boys they got em!!’
Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl expressed his displeasure with the referees’ decision on Chad-Baker’s early foul in an on-field interview during the first half. He said: ‘What he did was wrong… I thought it should have been an obvious 1.’
