A man will appear in court after the truck he was driving reversed and crashed into two cars before narrowly avoiding a third.

The semi-trailer was caught reversing at high speed on Ferntree Gully Road in Wheelers Hill, in Melbourne’s south-east, around 7.40am on February 28.

One driver shared the moment he was nearly wiped out by the truck, sending two vehicles flying towards him before miraculously missing his car.

The man can be heard bracing himself as the truck appears directly in front of his vehicle before suddenly changing course.

“F***,” he laughed as the truck passed his window.

“I don’t know what was going on with the truck driver, but there was definitely a force field around my car!” he said Dashcam Australia Owners.

“Luckily no one was seriously injured.”

Australians were quick to share their thoughts on the wild images.

“I will never stop downhill behind/or in front of a truck at lights again,” said one.

“I don’t know if his life flashed before his eyes, but mine sure did,” a second commented.

“Enjoy your Powerball win tonight,” joked a third.

Victoria Police say a 57-year-old man will appear in court after a truck allegedly reversed and collided with several vehicles.

“The driver, a 57-year-old Vermont man, was not injured and was assisted at the scene,” police said in a statement.

“Other people involved in the incident suffered minor injuries; however, no one required hospitalization.

“The man is expected to be charged on summons with careless driving and exceeding the prescribed drug concentration.”

Anyone with footage of the crash has been urged to contact police.
