Fans have questioned Marcus Rashford’s choice of who to gift tickets to for Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Fulham later this month.

The England international asked his Twitter followers to name the puzzle he was doing and that he would reward anyone who got it right with two tickets.

Fans correctly guessed that Rashford was tackling a 1,000-piece Lion King puzzle at home, and the 26-year-old decided to give the tickets to a Twitter influencer who runs a Man United account, which has more than a million followers.

UTDTrey, who was the lucky recipient, responded to Rashford by tweeting that he was the “best player in the world”.

However, others were quick to point out Rashford’s long list of messages from Trey attacking the striker.

A tweet last month urged a Saudi Pro League club to step in and sign the local star.

They wrote: “Saudi Pro League, I need you to do something for me.”

Another message read: “We used to have players like Ronaldo, Rooney, Scholes, Beckham, Vidic, Keane, Van Nistelrooy, Van Persie.

“Now Rashford is acting big because he knows he is our franchise player, we fell for the bad guy.”

Other messages included him suggesting that “no manager will keep Rashford” and that the problem is the striker and not Erik ten Hag.

Fans saw Trey’s humorous side as the lucky recipient of the tickets, with UtdEllis writing, “After all the shit you’ve said about him too.”

“You better never slander him again in your life.”

One user wrote: ‘What’s going on here,’ while another said ‘Trey of all people.’

Another fan thought there was something more, as they commented: “Crazy PR move.” I just got the biggest Man Utd account on Twitter to post unlimited props for him now.

Other followers questioned whether Rashford was aware of UTDTrey’s previous tweets against Rashford.

The striker was recently fined £650,000 by United after he became drunk for 12 hours in Belfast, before calling in sick to train.

Rashford acknowledged his mistake and responded in style with a goal during Uniterd’s 4-3 win over Wolves.

United are hoping for a strong end to the season for their striker, who has scored just five goals this campaign after scoring 30 goals in 56 games last season.
