Known as the Dogwood Estate, the property was gifted by Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash to the country star’s only son and the couple’s only biological child together in the 1980s.

The famous couple commissioned builder-to-Nashville’s stars Braxton Dixon to design and bring the home to life.

Eventually, the son, now 54, became a singer-songwriter as well as a Grammy-winning producer, working on albums with the likes of his own mother (who won a Grammy in 2000), Sheryl Crow, Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson, Elvis Costello and Emmylou Harris, among other greats.
The location of the Dogwood Estate was hardly arbitrary.
The elder Cashes had long owned a nearby site, a six-structure compound also managed by Dixon, called the Sycamore Homestead.
Dogwood Estate and Sycamore Homestead actually share a driveway that goes over a Dixon-built wooden bridge.
