An impatient driver who attempted to illegally overtake backed up traffic during school pick-up times was forced to reverse his vehicle after the brazen act went horribly wrong.
The driver of the Ford SUV crossed double lines in a school zone at Jordan Springs, near Penrith, in Sydney’s west, on Monday shortly before 3pm.
Shocking dash cam footage showed the driver traveling on the wrong side of the road in an impatient attempt to pass dozens of cars after traffic stopped.
Their bold plan, however, was thwarted when another motorist, Gareth, pulled off a nearby road and onto the road.

The driver of the SUV, facing Gareth’s car, was forced to reverse to allow him to enter the road.
At one point, the driver of the Ford nearly crashed into two cars that were parked in the left lane while reversing.
Gareth proceeded to move forward cautiously as the driver of the van continued to back up and was eventually left with no choice but to turn into the driveway of a nearby service station.
The driver gestured angrily at Gareth before driving away.
Gareth said he was faced with the unexpected presence of the Ford van on the wrong side of the road after having correctly entered the right lane.
“I was very surprised to see him there (and) I wasn’t sure what to do for a moment,” he said. yahoo.
“Then he started reversing, so I decided to follow him. I never honked the horn, turned on the lights, revved the engine or anything like that.”
Gareth, who has his own children at Jordan Springs Public School, said the reckless act committed by the van driver was not an isolated incident.

Footage of the bizarre act was uploaded to the Dash Cam Owners Australia Facebook page on Wednesday.
Hundreds of social media users flooded the post with comments praising Gareth for forcing the SUV’s “authorized” driver to find a different route.
“There’s nothing like making a goose going on the wrong side of the road reverse,” said one user.
‘Shame Reversal!’ wrote another.
“I love that you didn’t let the Bully win (sic),” another posted.
“I’m sure he’ll think twice before trying that maneuver again.”
Gareth said he has not reported the incident to the police.
He said he hoped the embarrassment of having to reverse his vehicle would be enough to deter the offending driver from committing the act again.
New South Wales motorists who illegally cross a solid line on roads face a $263 fine and will lose two demerit points from their licence.
Drivers can cross a boundary line if entering or leaving a property.
Motorists can also cross solid lines if they need to maintain a safe distance from a cyclist and avoid a collision.
