Meghan Markle’s next Netflix cooking show, Love, Meghanhas generated harsh criticism, while Kate Middleton celebrates her 43rd birthday with a family celebration.
Journalist Kevin O’Sullivan called the Duchess of Sussex’s new project “pathetic” and “boring” during an appearance on the program Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered Podcast. The show, premiering Jan. 15, features Markle baking for friends in California.
“What he’s offering to the public, you know, the new Meghan, this is the new invention, is pathetic,” O’Sullivan said. “(This is) a stupid show where she bakes cakes for her classmates in California, wears designer Cartier jewelry and flashy clothes…”
O’Sullivan went on to predict the show’s failure and criticized it as boring. “What she doesn’t understand is that to be successful in show business, to make successful shows and movies, you have to make them not boring… this is nonsense and it’s boring, it’s really boring (and) so so much will fail.”
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Atlantic, Kate Middleton celebrated her 43rd birthday with a low-key gathering with Prince William, her children and her extended family. Reports suggest that William has planned a romantic date night for Kate, who has been through a difficult year following her cancer diagnosis. The couple’s resilience and unity have been praised as they face personal and public challenges.
While Markle’s Netflix project aims to show a more personal side of her life, it has already sparked polarized reactions. The criticism highlights the continued scrutiny the duchess faces as she navigates her career in entertainment and philanthropy.
Kate’s birthday celebrations, by contrast, reflect a more relaxed and traditional royal approach, focusing on family and private moments. Since both women are in the public eye for very different reasons, their contrasting paths continue to capture global attention.
