Multiple teams have tried to lure Bill Belichick away from UNC and back to the NFL

Bill Belichick has been North Carolina’s head football coach for less than a month and he’s already trying to get drafted back to the NFL, including by Tom Brady’s Las Vegas Raiders.

Las Vegas fired Antonio Pierce on Tuesday after a four-to-13 season, claiming Brady has already spoken to Belichick in recent weeks.

Belichick’s buyout with the Tar Heels is set at $10 million and will drop dramatically to $1 million in June.

Regardless, that amount would be a fraction of what NFL teams are willing to pay to acquire the legendary head coach, per NFL Network.

Belichick made the shocking move to the college ranks for the first time last month and is already recruiting to build his first Tar Heels roster through the transfer portal and high school ranks.

Brady is a minority owner of the Raiders, while controlling owner Mark Davis wants to appoint the legendary quarterback to his committee to find the team’s next leader.

It has not been revealed who the other team is that inquired about Belichick’s willingness to make the move.

Six NFL teams currently have head coaching vacancies with the Raiders, Jaguars, Saints, Bears, Patriots and Jets.

The Cowboys could have an opening soon and Mike McCarthy’s contract expires next week and other teams have tried to interview him to take over.

Belichick was head coach of the Patriots for 24 years and was fired last January, with Jerod Mayo named as his successor. Mayo was canned on Sunday.

Brady and Belichick spent two decades together in New England, winning six Super Bowls.

Belichick was denied a new NFL job on the coaching carousel last year and was considered a key player in this year’s extravaganza until he transferred to Chapel Hill.

Joining UNC apparently hasn’t stopped teams from luring Belichick back to the NFL before he coaches his first college game.
