TJD reveals Draymond’s message to sagging Warriors after grim loss originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
To put it lightly, things aren’t looking great for the Warriors right now.
Coach Steve Kerr he labeled it as “crisis of confidence” after another heartbreak Defeat 114-98 on Tuesday against the Miami Heat.
Forward Draymond Green also provided deep reflection on Golden State’s struggles, as teammate Trayce Jackson-Davis revealed after the game.
After being asked about the Warriors’ recent struggles since their hot 12-3 start, Jackson-Davis shared what’s gone wrong over the past month and a half.
“When the shots fall, everything is beautiful. Everything is fantastic.” Jackson-Davis told reporters. “But we can’t be pioneers.
“We have to find our soul. That’s what Draymond said: it was our soul that we lost and we’ve lost our spirit. We have to get that back. We have to play tough basketball. We have to play with confidence… I think if we do that, we will find our way back.”
Like Kerr, Green’s self-assessment of the Warriors’ crisis has no simple, superficial solution. Instead, the team’s problems appear more deeply rooted, as if its championship-caliber identity has been compromised.
So when Golden State leaves for a Four-game Midwest road trip Over the next week, the team will have a lot to think about as it looks to get back to winning ways.
Hopefully, that soul and spirit will not be lost forever.
