Putin’s clumsy troops were captured on footage driving their tank straight into a ditch before Ukrainian drones opened fire on the user-friendly war machine.
The dramatic clip, released by the Ukrainian military, shows the huge tank speeding down a muddy track while firing into the distance.
In just a few moments, the armored vehicle is seen coming to an abrupt stop as it moves towards a ditch in the ground.
The war machine featured in the images is reportedly a T-90, a late Soviet-era main battle tank that costs up to £4 million per vehicle.
As the fighting machine remains stuck nose down in the ground, it quickly becomes an easy target and smoke can be seen billowing from its structure as the Ukrainians launch their attack on it.
Drone footage shows the Ukrainians targeting the helpless war vehicle as it fires rounds of ammunition in an attempt to leave it a battered and destroyed mess.
The embarrassing mistake comes as the war-torn country continues its surprise counteroffensive in Russia’s Kursk region.
Last week, Ukraine used British Storm Shadow missiles to eliminate two senior Kremlin officials in a dramatic double attack across the Russian border.

The deaths of the two colonels come amid reports from both sides that Ukraine is carrying out an offensive in the Kursk region, where Putin has positioned thousands of North Korean fighters to retake territory controlled by kyiv from an incursion into August 2024.
Ukrainian troops are moving from Sudzha towards Bolshoye Soldatskoye seeking to expand their land grab into Putin’s territory, exploiting the frozen terrain to advance.
The magnitude of the advance was not immediately clear.
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine are actively using heavy equipment,” one report said.
“The offense is related to the frozen ground, which favors equipment.”
Today President Zelensky said that Russian and North Korean troops had suffered heavy losses.
“In the battles yesterday and today near a single village, Makhnovka, in the Kursk region, the Russian army lost to a battalion of North Korean infantrymen and Russian paratroopers,” he said.
“This is significant,” he added.
British Storm Shadow missiles are capable of dodging air defenses, making them a nightmarish strike weapon for your enemy.
After just two weeks of Koreans on the front lines, Zelenksy said 3,000 of them had been killed or wounded, nearly a third of the estimated 11,000 who were sent into the country.
In a statement on Telegram, the Russian Defense Ministry said: “At around nine in the morning Moscow time, to stop the offensive of Russian troops in the direction of Kursk, the enemy launched a counterattack with a composite assault detachment by two tanks, one obstacle fighting vehicle and 12 armored combat vehicles.
Russia also recently suffered the loss of a Mi-28 helicopter in an unexplained accident in the Voronezh region.
This is the fifth military helicopter destroyed or damaged last week, and the second Mi-28.
Three Mi-8 helicopters were hit by missile-firing Ukrainian Magura V5 marine drone attacks in a historic first in modern warfare.
One of the Mi-8 helicopters managed to return to its base and land despite suffering damage.
The other two crashed and one report said 16 people died.
The previous Russian Mi-28 was lost in a friendly fire incident.
On Saturday night, Russia attacked Ukraine with 103 drones of which 61 were shot down and 42 ‘lost’.
Russia said 61 Ukrainian drones were destroyed in five regions.
