Molly-Mae Hague admitted she found the run-up to Christmas “very sad” and “mentally heavy” this year, as she prepares to celebrate the holiday without her ex-fiancé Tommy Fury for the first time.
The former Love Island star, 25, took to her YouTube on Christmas Eve to share a new vlog featuring herself and the boxer’s daughter Bambi, 23 months, visiting Lapland, UK, and baking cookies to leave for Santa.
And while she put on a brave face and threw herself into the holiday spirit, she admitted that she was “struggling” with the season this year and was feeling “really deflated.”
Speaking directly to the camera, Molly-Mae explained that the time of year had brought up a lot of emotions, adding: “When you have things going on in your personal life, it can really feel 10 times worse.”
It marked a drastic change from last year’s Christmas Eve, which she celebrated with Tommy, 25, before the couple shocked fans in the summer when they announced they had split after five years.
She explained that her bad mood had meant she hadn’t filmed as much, being reluctant to project “false happiness” and confessed that she had burst into tears on Monday night.

Molly-Mae said: “I haven’t been feeling up to Christmas but I haven’t really been vlogging as I’ve been feeling quite mentally heavy over the last few days.” And I’ve been struggling a little more than usual.’
She continued, “I don’t really know why; well, actually I do know why.” But the last few days have been quite challenging mentally and to be honest I’ve been quite depressed and didn’t feel like picking up the camera.
“And even if I had taken my camera, it would be like false happiness and false giddiness about Christmas and I would never act in a way that I don’t feel.”
“That’s why I come here now and tell you that I’ve been feeling a little depressed.”
Molly-Mae reflected: “It’s very sad when people say that Christmas brings emotions and for people it can be a very, very sad time of year and I feel like I’ve been so blessed in my life, I’ve never felt like that at Christmas.” , it has always been a very positive moment for me.
“But I feel like this is the first Christmas where I can really understand what people are talking about when they talk about how it really makes you feel.”

The influencer continued: ‘I’ve been feeling really deflated and my weekend at Taylor and Jack’s was surprisingly incredibly difficult for multiple reasons.

‘It’s Christmas Eve and I come here literally sounding very depressed, but I just want to be honest with you.
‘Honestly, the whole weekend at Taylor and Jack’s house, Bambi cried. He cried for two days straight and that was very hard for me. I know I keep using the word heavy, but that’s the only way to describe how I feel: it’s heavy.
Molly-Mae candidly confessed: ‘I actually cried a lot tonight. “I cried a lot and let it all out.”
But she added: “I actually feel a little guilty because my whole family has fallen apart because I’m hosting this year and I was sitting there feeling incredible guilt for not being the best host and letting them down because they’re coming here.
‘I just didn’t feel like I could really be present because I have a lot on my mind and I was thinking about a lot of things and I was feeling quite sad.
“Tomorrow I will wake up with a more positive attitude and we will start again.” I’m sorry that the start of this vlog was a complete disaster, because the last few days have really been a complete disaster.
“I don’t want to discourage Christmas, because I think Christmas is amazing and I’m very lucky to have my loved ones around me, but for obvious reasons, this year I feel very sad. That’s not anyone’s fault, it’s just a sad situation.”

She said: “Sometimes people write things about me as a mother under my videos and the accuracy – people have really discovered me as a mother.”
“Because I constantly say I’m fight or flight and they’re like, ‘I think you’re dealing with something.’ And I’m like, probably, yeah.
During the video, she went to get her nails and hair done for Christmas Day to cheer herself up, before baking with her daughter.

Speaking to her little one, Molly-Mae said: ‘Dad came and dressed up as Santa, didn’t he? Was he at the door and said, “Ho, ho, Merry Christmas!” It was a lot of fun, wasn’t it?
Explaining to her fans, she continued: “I bought Tommy a Santa suit, because I really wanted him to meet Santa Claus and not have a crying experience because every time he met Santa Claus in December until now he hated him.”
‘But Tommy came and dressed up as Santa very quickly and she met him and instantly knew it was him. He was completely covered but she could see his eyes and knew immediately. And she thought it was the funniest thing ever.
Molly-Mae and Tommy were spotted in each other’s company again at the weekend, as they reunited for a holiday with Bambi in Cheshire on Saturday.
