ESPN made a hilarious mistake on Monday when they butchered the nickname of a college football team.

The Fresno State Bulldogs took on Northern Illinois Huskies in the Idaho Potato Bowl, with the game being televised on the Worldwide Leader.

But unfortunately for Fresno State, ESPN’s graphics repeatedly referred to them as the “Bulldongs.”

The incorrect name was shown on the screen several times, including after a 90-yard touchdown drive for Fresno State.

A fan too pointed out that ‘Bulldongs’ was written in an image shown at the end of the first quarter.

After the whole series of errors was published by Terrible announcement on X the error started, unsurprisingly, on social media.

“Top 3 bowl season moment so far,” one fan joked.

“I’m amazed at how committed they are to not fixing the mistake,” said another said.

“I watch this over and over and still can’t believe it,” said a third fan added.

Incredibly, Fresno State’s nickname was the same changed briefly on their Wikipedia page, although it has now been switched back to the correct name.

It ended up being a tough day for Fresno State in more ways than one, as they lost 28-20 in double overtime – after holding a 13-3 lead in the first half.

NIU quarterback Dane Pardridge connected with George Dimopoulos for a 25-yard touchdown to take the lead in the second overtime before the Huskies then held their opponents scoreless.

Fresno State finished their season 6-7.
