Two women appear to have taken the term “silly season” a little too literally after they were filmed during a fight in a shopping center parking lot just days before Christmas.
The video was published on tiktok on Monday and showed the pair confronting each other in the car park of the Orion shopping center in Springfield, southwest of Brisbane.
They appear to be arguing at the beginning of the video before a woman, dressed in a green shirt, dropped her purse and made the first push of the fight.
The other woman, wearing a dark shirt, initially stumbled back toward her car parked in the middle of the road before responding with a punch.
The two then hit each other in the head before the dark-shirted woman landed another blow to the back of her combatant’s head.
After a brief second to compose themselves, they grabbed each other’s hair and stood in a stalemate before a man intervened and broke up the fight.
The couple continued sharing words as the man detained the woman in the green shirt and the other returned to her car.
A Queensland Police spokesperson said they had not yet received an official complaint.
Wild images have emerged of two women fighting in a car park in Springfield, south-west of Brisbane, during last-minute Christmas shopping (pictured).
Questions about what may have sparked the wild brawl after footage was posted on a venue’s Facebook page later on Monday.
The post was captioned: “Nothing like a little rage in the Orion parking lot, stay classy at Springer’s” and garnered more than 300 comments.
One user theorized that the altercation started because one of the women “stole” the other’s parking spot.
“I don’t know why people don’t park too far away… There are always parks,” said a second.
“They should be ashamed of themselves fighting over parking,” wrote a third.
A fourth joked that this is “what happens when you can’t find eggs anywhere.”
Another user introduced himself as one of the shocked bystanders in the video and described the fight as “horrible.”
“There was a kid in the car who would have seen everything… The man in the car who came to the rescue was amazing,” he wrote.
