New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson took to Instagram to criticize criticism of his performance in his team’s 19-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
Wilson recorded six catches for 54 yards as the Jets lost at MetLife Stadium in the playoffs chasing the Rams, but he was only targeted three times in the first 55 minutes. It comes days after reports ignited speculation that he will demand a trade during the offseason.
Speaking after the game, Wilson looked frustrated, telling reporters: “I don’t know, to be honest.” I just have to go out there and do my best and hope things turn out well.
“I’d love to be involved, I’d love to have an impact on the game, but people see it differently. That’s out of my control.
On Instagram after speaking to the media, Garrett posted his story apparently in reference to a five-yard pass he took and ended up being forced back.
He wrote: ‘Do you think I’m trying to be cool with that 5 yard catch?
Absolutely not, I’m trying to bring that to the crib. Turn it into an explosive. Shake up the whole team/at least try. You’ll probably never understand.
“If you’re mad about 2 yards, know that’s why we won’t get along.”
