In November, Argentine prosecutors charged the suspects with the crimes of “abandonment of a person followed by death” and “supply and facilitation of the use of narcotics.”
The autopsy concluded that he died from multiple trauma and external bleeding after falling from the balcony of his room on the third floor of the CasaSur hotel in the exclusive Palermo neighborhood.
Toxicology tests showed there were “traces of alcohol, cocaine and a prescription antidepressant” in his body before his death.
The identities of the suspects charged in connection with his death have not been released.
However, prosecutors said one of the people charged was a hotel employee who allegedly gave Payne cocaine during his stay between Oct. 13 and 16. Another is a drug dealer.
