Unfortunately for the family, Lottie’s sister, Félicité Tomlinson, lost her life after an accidental overdose three years later, after taking a deadly mixture of anti-anxiety drugs, cocaine and painkillers.

Her mother, Johannah Deakin, died of leukemia seven months at the age of 43 after being diagnosed with leukemia in 2016, when Lottie was just 18 years old.
Johannah and Lottie’s father, from whom she was separated, had separated four years earlier and her mother’s death prompted her to move to Doncaster.
Lottie details how she returned home in the book Lucky Girl: ‘I needed to be there for the little ones. It was just an instinct. And we all have that in us because of how my mother raised us. We are all very motherly and care a lot about each other. My job was important to me, but nothing is more important than your family and they needed me.’
