‘Please tell me they haven’t done this to the bagel man too?’ he commented.
‘Why aren’t woke people funny? This doesn’t even rhyme! The fox would turn away in disgust and refuse to eat this poetic abomination!’
However, not all politicians agreed, with Labor treasurer Jim Chalmers telling Sunrise he had more important things to do.
‘Gee, those guys are into the big stuff, aren’t they?’ he joked.
“I’m focused on inflation, the cost of living, the budget; they’re focused on the gingerbread men in the cafe.”
The protest comes after Woolworths took the controversial step of renaming its gingerbread men as gingerbread people in the run-up to Christmas last year.

“There are a lot more people buying them now, which is pretty fun.”
