A woman was left furious after the man she had been dating for just four months bought a house without her.

The anonymous man took to Reddit to explain that his girlfriend, 32, was “less than thrilled” when she learned that her boyfriend, 37, bought a house without “consulting” her.

Single father of two detailed the shocking situation in a thread titled Am I the idiot?

Although he explained to his girlfriend that houses ‘are going fast’ and that he had to make a decision, she was still upset.

The father then turned to his sister to ask if he was wrong for not telling his lover about the house.

Although his brother chastised him for the news, the man insisted that it seemed “too quick” to consult with his girlfriend about the house.

Now, the man is asking people for advice on the social media platform.

The post was titled: ‘Am I an idiot for buying a house without “consulting” my girlfriend of four months?’

He explained: ‘I (37 million) am a single father with two children (16 million and 14 million). I met my girlfriend (32F) in February.

‘We dated casually and not exclusively until September and then we started dating exclusively.

‘My girlfriend has indicated that she wants to have children, but she currently has no children. I’m definitely open to that, but I only told him after dating for at least a couple of years.’

He explained that he had been looking to buy a new home and when one came on the market, he knew he had to take advantage of the opportunity.

‘I’ve been looking to buy a new house. I absolutely hate living where I live. I bought it when my kids were little and it was convenient then. But my work is 30 minutes away and the children’s school is 45 minutes away.

‘A house came on the market in a neighborhood five minutes from work and 10-15 minutes from the children’s school, and its market value was well below.

‘My real estate agent called me, I saw him that same day and made him an offer. The offer was accepted,” the father said.

He was delighted to share the news with his girlfriend, however, she was not very happy to find out that he had bought the house.

The anonymous man took to Reddit to explain that his girlfriend, 32, was “less than thrilled” when she learned that her boyfriend, 37, bought a house without “consulting” her.

The man added: ‘I told my girlfriend the good news. She was less than thrilled. She asked me why I didn’t “consult” her.

‘I’ve been looking for about a year and the reality is that houses sell out quickly. Often, they are not even on the market for a day if they are reasonably priced. I had to act quickly. I explained all this to her, but she is still upset.

‘I talked to my sister (34F) about this. She says she feels his frustration. My sister said she was in the same situation two years ago, she was a single woman in her 30s looking to get married and have children soon. In those two years she met her husband, got married and had a son.

“So from her perspective, my girlfriend is thinking this is the home that her kids will potentially be raised in.

‘I can see that, but I think it’s a little premature to expect me to consult my girlfriend of four months before buying a house. From my point of view, this is going too fast.

At the end of the post, he questioned whether he was an ‘asshole.’

One person said: ‘Not the jerk.’ You’ve only been exclusive since September, sure she could be imagining a life with you, but that doesn’t mean she now has a say in your home.

Someone else wrote: ‘Not the moron. You are barely a couple. Honestly, this is a red flag to pay attention to. I wouldn’t have children with this woman before doing some things legally for your own children. If she is this upset this early in the relationship, I wonder what she will demand in the future. And I say that as a woman.’

Another user added: ‘NTA. It’s too early in the relationship for her to impose an opinion on a house you bought with your money, regardless of her biological clock.
