Dianne Buswell celebrated her Strictly win with her family as they traveled from Australia to watch her lift the Glitterball trophy for the first time with Chris McCausland on Saturday night.

It looked like Dianne Buswell was spending some well-deserved time with her family after lifting the Glitterball trophy with her Strictly partner Chris McCausland on Saturday night.

The professional dancer, 34, has been enjoying quality time with her family who traveled from Australia to see the couple perform.

Dianne’s father Mark, who underwent cancer treatment last year, and her mother Ria cried as they watched their daughter win the BBC show for the first time over the weekend.

And Dianne’s brother Andrew is also visiting from below and shared a series of sweet clips of the dancer and her niece and nephew.

Decorating her house with a banner and balloons reading “WINNER 2024”, Dianne hugged her nephew Roman before Joe was seen dragging his niece Zofia on a toy train.

In another adorable clip, Dianne read Zofia a bedtime story, while Andrew captioned the post: “Zofia has been talking about this moment for months.”

The star often shares her family’s support on Instagram and her niece sends good luck wishes to ‘Auntie Dot’ every week.

Dianne and Chris, 47, were crowned 2024 champions after the comedian made history as the show’s first blind contestant and winner.

Chris beat fellow finalists Tasha Ghouri, JB Gill and Sarah Hadland to the spot in the ‘greatest of all time’ final, and his cheeky wit and inspiring story helped save the show after a year of scandals.

On her Instagram Story, Dianne also shared an emotional snap with her parents as they hugged each other after her incredible win.

Elsewhere Joe, who met Dianne on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018, proudly shared a gallery of images praising the dancer for her hard work and “determination”.

The YouTuber wrote: ‘There are no words to describe how proud I am of you two @diannebuswell @chrismccauslandcomedy. Last night was an absolute movie.

‘You made us laugh, you made us cry and you showed the world that you are good enough and can achieve anything the skeptics say you can’t and more.

‘Chris, I thank you for making this year so special for Dianne and I couldn’t be happier that you’re the partner she finally lifted the shiny ball with.

Meanwhile, her boyfriend Joe Sugg was seen taking his niece Zofia on a toy train.

‘Dot, it has been a long and winding road, full of ups and downs for 7 years, but you have shown sheer determination and dedication and you finally got there in the best way possible and everyone could see how amazing you are and how wonderful you are. You are an incredible teacher this year.

“You are both inspirations and have the hearts of the nations on behalf of everyone, thank you.”

It is the first time Dianne has won Strictly after reaching the final last year with her partner, EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier, 20, but losing to Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola.

Dianne previously lost out in 2018 when she was partnered with her now-boyfriend Joe while Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton lifted the Glitterball.

Meanwhile, Chris has reflected on his “emotional” victory and says he will “never be a part of something like this again.”

The blind comedian has earned praise for ‘breaking barriers’ on television after winning the bbc show during the weekend.

Breaking his silence about his incredible win, Chris wrote on X: “Well I probably won’t be a part of something like that again.” Saturday night was emotional and I still haven’t fully recovered.

‘Thank you all so much for appreciating what we were able to do. It has been an incredible experience. Much love to you all #Strictly!’

Disability charity Scope said Chris’ appearance on the show will help “change perceptions” and spark a conversation about disability inclusion.

Alison Kerry, head of communications at disability equality charity Scope, said: “It’s fantastic that Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell won the Glitterball trophy.

‘One in four of us in the UK are disabled. Disability representation on television, especially on a flagship BBC programme, is very important.

‘It helps break down barriers, transforms attitudes and gives viewers a greater understanding of the lives, talent and potential of disabled people.

‘Thanks to Chris’s winning performance, perceptions will be challenged and more people will talk about the importance of disability inclusion and accessibility.

‘The impact of Strictly in breaking down barriers cannot be underestimated. It is a very popular and entertaining program. But the media industry still has a long way to go to achieve true disability representation.’
