“It was explained that the cut was due to financial costs, however, other families have not been removed, which left me wondering why and who decided that three generations of women was the right choice, especially when the program is already dominated largely by the voices of men, he added.

“It was the only reason we applied for the show in the first place,” Isabelle continued.

“I saw a gap for multi-generational women’s voices in mainstream media and knew it was important for Australia to have this more than ever.”

As for what the future holds, the women say they are accepting television offers, but are being careful not to “accept offers that come our way just for the sake of it.”

Fan favorite Isabelle Silbery confirmed the news on Instagram last month, revealing that she, her mother Kerry, and Isabelle’s eleven-month-old daughter Ruby would not be returning to the show in 2025.

Isabelle and Kerry joined the show, with Kerry’s mother Emily, in 2016, and Emily quit in 2023 after being diagnosed with dementia.

She shared a photo showing her, Kerry and Emily taking their usual spot on the couch.

“It is with a heavy heart to announce that Mum, Ruby and I will not be returning to Gogglebox in 2025,” Isabelle wrote.

‘Foxtel has decided not to renew our beloved show and although the show will continue on Channel 10, the three of us have not been included in its new form.’

Isabelle went on to say that she was grateful for the opportunity to showcase women’s voices on Australian television.

“Nine years ago, I saw an opportunity to showcase the voices of real women from multiple generations,” she said.

It comes as Foxtel has shuttered popular series Gogglebox Australia after 19 epic seasons.

The long-running reality series, in which ordinary Australians comment on the week on television, was adapted from a UK format and has been adored by fans since its launch in 2015.

The multi-Logie award-winning show was a co-production between Foxtel’s Lifestyle Channel and Network Ten, and aired first on Foxtel and free-to-air the following day.

But sources have exclusively revealed to Daily Mail Australia that Foxtel dropped the popular show and Network Ten kept it, albeit in a rebooted format.

“It’s been an unusual relationship that has been quite tumultuous at times,” the source said of co-producing the show.

“Over the years, Gogglebox has had two networks that really tried to co-opt its success and both networks, at different times, tried to buy the show from each other.”

The source added that Channel Ten has decided to keep the series, but it will look markedly different to the one Gogglebox Australia fans are used to.

“There’s good news and bad news for fans of the show,” the source said.

“Network Ten swooped in and saved us, so the series will return in 2025, but the bad news is that the show will be rebooted and have a massive cast change.”

The source added that the program would be “reduced” from 2025 and that Channel 10 would not have to bear the entire burden of production costs.

“I imagine Gogglebox will reboot with a coat of paint,” the source said.

‘The fact of the matter is that Foxtel could no longer afford it and Network Ten could no longer afford it at the show’s current costs.

“Cuts had to be made across the show and more families have been informed that they will not be included in the next installment of the show on Network Ten.”

A Foxtel Group spokesperson also confirmed the news to Television black box.

‘The TV show about watching people watch TV. “Nobody believed in it, but Foxtel did,” the spokesperson said.

‘Since 2015 we have broadcast Gogglebox Australia into our living rooms, holding a mirror up not only to Australian television, but also to Australian culture, humor and entertainment. “We have laughed, cried and shared many iconic moments together alongside Gogglebox homes.”

Meanwhile, a Network Ten spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia: “Next year, there will only be one place to watch Australia’s favorite sofa critics,” they said.

“Grab the popcorn and get comfy on the couch, because in 2025 Gogglebox Australia will be streaming exclusively on 10 and 10 Play.”

The spokesperson also thanked the Silbery family for their contributions to the program for nearly a decade.

“The three generations of women in the Silbery family brought a wealth of life experience, personality, empathy, humor and opinions to the table every time they sat down to watch TV together,” the spokesperson said.

“The Silbery family will not be returning next season, but we thank them for their incredible contributions to the show over the past nine years.”
