Former championship-winning Georgia football player Gleaton Jones dies at age 21

Gleaton Jones, who was a member of Georgia’s 2021 national championship team, has died at the age of 21 after being in a car accident earlier this week.

Jones was a walk-on for the Bulldogs and was no longer with the program. His death on Friday came three days after he suffered a brain injury in the crash Red and black.

Jones, a native of nearby Albany, Georgia, was on the sidelines of Georgia’s national championship victory over Alabama, the Bulldogs’ first title win since 1980.
