Newcastle inflicted a first defeat on Leicester manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy as three different goalscorers led the Magpies to victory in Saturday’s dominant 4-0 victory that moves the club into the top half of the table.

Eddie Howe’s hosts took the lead on the half-hour when midfielder Jacob Murphy sent a precise shot into the bottom corner after a well-worked corner routine.

The Foxes held firm for the rest of the half before Bruno Guimaraes doubled Newcastle’s lead early in the second half, with Alexander Isak scoring a third goal less than five minutes later.
