Ore Oduba has revealed how her success on Strictly Come Dancing gave her the ‘golden ticket’ to stop presenting roles and revive her dream of becoming a theater star.

The TV host, 39, known primarily as a presenter before his Glitterball win eight years ago, always felt something was missing in his life.

In an exclusive interview with the sunHe said: ‘Strictly definitely helped me realize the truth. I thought he died a long time ago when I was a child. So I feel very lucky in this job. “I’m doing something I never thought was possible.”

Ore first took the stage as an eight-year-old boy in a school production, singing in front of parents and students.

Bitten by the entertainment bug, he participated in amateur shows until he was 17 years old.

But his dream of stepping on the board professionally died quickly after he left education, with no conversation about how he might pursue it as a career.

He continued: ‘That was it, until doing Strictly. It was like you were hit on the head and the birds were chirping around you saying, “Oh, wait a minute, this is what I used to do.”

He then added: ‘Don’t get me wrong, I’ve never done it in this environment, but this was like my first love.’

He also confessed that if he and Joanne Clifton hadn’t won the 2016 series, he doesn’t think he would have followed his dream career.

Ore added that she “loved performing on Strictly” and knew she had something “very special that not many people had”, which was a “little golden ticket” to use.

For two years, Ore hosted the Strictly Arena tour, speaking in front of thousands of fans and even taking part in some dance routines.

Stating that most people would ‘run for the hills’, Ore confessed that he loves being on stage in front of a lot of people and that it gave him the confidence to take the leap.

While he certainly felt no shame in being a presenter, after Strictly he realized his place in the TV pecking order.

He admitted that he spent two and a half years after Strictly working hard but was never offered a job.

Ore added that

Although the BBC show might have been his “golden ticket” to reviving his dream of becoming a theater star, that didn’t stop him from having to prove himself again and again once the doors started opening.

He has worked on Grease, Cinderella and The Rocky Horror Show, to name a few, before achieving leading man status.

He stated that he had to “work hard” to get to a point where he knew he could be an “asset to any company.”

The star confessed that the decision to jump on stage and ‘see what happens’ was ‘pretty easy’ and now, eight years later, she will take on her first leading role in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Ore will take on the role of Caractacus Potts, made famous by Dick Van Dyke in 1968, from stage favorite Adam Garcia.
