A school teacher has been arrested for alleged possession of child abuse material.
New South Wales Police detectives launched an investigation on December 3 after receiving reports that a 23-year-old man was in possession of child abuse material.
Officers carried out a search warrant at a school in Port Stephens, near Newcastle, on the New South Wales north coast, on December 4.
Detectives confiscated several electronic devices for forensic examinations.
The 23-year-old man was arrested and taken to Maitland police station on Friday and charged with possession of child abuse material.
He was given strict bail and will face Maitland Local Court on January 15.
