Luigi Mangione’s lawyer has suggested that police arrested the wrong man for the murder of UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson.
Mangione, 26, has retained attorney Thomas Dickey, who said the suspect is fighting extradition from Pennsylvania to New York to face murder charges.
Dickey told ABC News that he has “seen no evidence” that Mangione is the man who shot and killed Thompson in midtown Manhattan last week.
“That is why we are contesting the extradition at this time, so that we can see some evidence and get some more detailed information about the charges against Luigi,” the lawyer said.
It is not clear who is paying Dickey’s fees as he is not a public defender.
