A mother and son in Philadelphia were shot multiple times in their own home after a burglary ended tragically with the 25-year-old boy’s death.
Bernadette Gaudio, 61, and her son Andrew Gaudio were both shot in Wynnewood, Philadelphia, during a home invasion at 2:20 a.m. Sunday morning.
Police have issued an arrest warrant for 42-year-old Kelvin Roberts, who has been charged with manslaughter, robbery and conspiracy.
After several men were believed to have broken into the home, Bernadette suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, reported NBC.
Her son, Andrew, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.
Roberts has been identified as one of the men who left the scene after officers responded to Bernadette’s 911 call.
Responding officers reported that a white Hyundai Azera driven by Roberts fled the area with Pennsylvania registration 24963 PD.
Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele warned that Roberts could be “armed and dangerous.”

Roberts was seen fleeing the scene in a white Hyundai, which was later tracked to his most recent address, where Bernadette Gaudio’s jewelry box was discovered.

Richard said he knew Bernadette for more than 15 years, and his thoughts and prayers are with the family.
‘We all know each other. We all know everyone’s kids. Whether it’s the people across the street, or two doors down, or three doors down, or down the street.
‘Everyone knows everyone, and when something like that happens you think, “I don’t understand,” and you definitely get a little scared.
“I really hope that the Lower Merion Police Department and the detectives involved find out who did this, why they did this, and arrest them and get them off the streets because everyone will sleep a lot better because of this,” he said. the exhaust.
Detectives tracked the vehicle to an address on Sansom Street in Philadelphia, where they spoke with a child who lived there and who identified Roberts in a photo as the driver of the car.
A green Jeep Cherokee, determined to belong to one of the victims, was seen on dashcam footage and later recovered on the same street, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
Police also conducted a search of Roberts’ last known address, where they found a jewelry box that Bernadette identified as hers.

A green Jeep Cherokee, determined to belong to one of the victims, was seen on dashcam footage and was later found on the same street as Robert’s last known address.
“The jewelry box is critical because it shows that they were in the house, that they committed a burglary, a robbery, a home invasion, and we have proof of that in the jewelry box,” Steele said.
“We cannot tell you specifically at this time whether this was random or targeted,” Steele said at a news conference on Monday, NBC reported.
According to Steele, Roberts has warrants for his arrest on two similar charges.
‘He is wanted for theft for theft of property from North Wales. He’s wanted for a burglary in Philadelphia,” he said.
Law enforcement officials said if you see Roberts, do not approach him and call 911.
Investigators are looking for another person of interest, who has yet to be named.
Police have been conducting patrols in the area of the neighborhood also targeted by unmarked units.
The Public Prosecution Service is offering a $5,000 reward for information about this suspect that leads to his arrest.
