A popular TikTok momfluencer is under investigation after her followers reported her to child protective services and police.
25-year-old mother-of-two Hannah Hiatt sparked concern after posting a video of her son James flinching and hiding his face after his dad Braxton walked up to him.
Hiatt’s followers reported the video to Child Protective Services and Utah police, prompting an investigation into the matter.
“A detective has been assigned to the case,” a spokesperson for the Ogden, Utah, Police Department said People magazine in a statement.
The video was originally posted last month, but was removed from Hiatt’s page after being flooded with hundreds of comments from concerned fans.
Hiatt then addressed the controversy in a follow-up video on November 29, defending her husband as the “sweetest, kindest, kindest, most loving and most caring father in the world.”
“In the video that y’all are going crazy about, they’re just playing. They always play where they scare each other. …that’s what they always do,” she said.
‘There’s nothing wrong. From the moment my husband wakes up in the morning until the moment he goes to bed, all he thinks about is our children and our family and what is best for us.”

In yet another video defending herself, Hiatt accused online trolls of creating a scandal out of thin air.
“We live in a world today where people will make something out of nothing,” she ranted.
“We live in a world where people are so desperate to become TikTok famous that they will post about anything to get opinions for themselves. They don’t care if it brings anyone down, they just want to be TikTok famous.”
Since the controversy broke, Hannah has disabled comments on her YouTube channel and TikTok page.
She has also set her Instagram page to private.
Hiatt rose to fame thanks to a viral TikTok video in which she picked up 17 dirty diapers in her home.
The video was nicknamed ’17 Diapers Mom’ and caused her social media following to explode.
“They just get thrown around my house, and at the end of the day we collect them in a bag and take them to the dumpster,” she said in the video, which has been viewed nearly 20 million times so far.

‘I don’t think I realized how many diapers I had changed that day. “I just grabbed my phone and filmed a funny video,” she told People in October.
‘Initially the attention was 99% negative. To be honest, I was a little embarrassed. But yeah, the people who judge me don’t actually see what’s going on in my house,” she continued.
“Yes, there were seventeen diapers in my house, but they didn’t see me coloring with my son while simultaneously breastfeeding my newborn. They didn’t see me taking my son to the park, pushing him on the swing while holding my newborn.”
Hannah’s most popular video is called ‘get unready with me’ and shows the young mother brushing her teeth and washing her face before going to bed.
It currently has almost 35 million views.
In addition to being a TikTok influencer, Hannah also works as a nurse in Utah.
