Amy Adams revealed that she is a “much wilder person than people expect” in a new interview on Tuesday.

The actress, 50, also revealed that she enjoyed getting carried away with the role in her latest film Nightb***h while discussing the project on Capital Radio.

The Enchanted star explained that she felt she could tap into her “animal side” to prepare her for the role of an artist who fears turning into a dog while taking a break from her career to be a housewife.

Amy told DJs Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby that she could let herself completely go and enjoyed not meeting other people’s expectations.

She said: ‘IIt was really liberating because some roles require a lot more vanity and the character has a lot more vanity, I guess.

‘And this one is like you’re just letting go of everything and coming into contact with something that’s really free and not really tied to anyone else’s expectations.

When asked if she crawled and pretended to be a dog at home, Amy dismissed the suggestion with laughter.

She said: “No, no, no, I’m not someone who crawls on all fours, but I will say that I think I’m a much wilder person than people expect.”

Clarifying her position, Amy explained that she feels more connected to nature, telling the radio show hosts, “No, you know I’m a little bit more natural and I’m more connected to the Earth and all that.”

“I wasn’t sleeping because I was awake with her at night,” she said.

“I was tired, but I also felt very different. I know the world didn’t see me differently. But I felt very internally that something had changed.”

“Just burning the candle at both ends until you can do it for a limited time, and doing what I call crying in the closet,” she shared.
