Luigi Mangione wrote in a manifesto that he found health care executives to be “parasites who deserved it.”

The 26-year-old man was arrested Monday at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s after a worker alerted authorities about a customer who resembled the alleged gunman.

He has since been charged with the murder of UnitedHeathCare CEO Brian Thompson in midtown Manhattan.

Mangione’s family released a statement after his arrest, saying they were shocked and devastated.

“Unfortunately we cannot comment on the news about Luigi Mangione,” the Mangione family said. “We only know what we have read in the media.

‘Our family is shocked and devastated by Luigi’s arrest. We offer our prayers to the family of Brian Thompson and ask people to pray for everyone involved.’

Mangione comes from a prominent Maryland family. His grandfather Nick Mangione, who died in 2008, was a successful real estate developer.

One of his best-known projects was Turf Valley Resort, a sprawling luxury retreat and conference center outside Baltimore that he purchased in 1978.

The alleged gunman reportedly referenced UnitedHealthcare in the handwritten document found on him.

“To save you a long investigation, I clearly state that I was not working with anyone,” Mangione said.

‘These parasites deserved it. “I apologize for any conflict and trauma, but it had to be done.”

Luigi Mangione told his classmates that they need “incredible courage to explore the unknown and try new things.”

Mangione had been valedictorian of the Gilman School’s class of 2016, which he praised in his speech for its “inventive (and) pioneering mentality.”

Gov. Josh Shapiro said the alleged shooter, UnitedHealthcare CEO Luigi Mangione, “is not a hero” after his court appearance.

“In America, we don’t kill people in cold blood to resolve political differences or express a point of view,” Shapiro said.

Luigi Mangione is believed to be in Pennsylvania for “several days”

The alleged shooter of UnitedHealthcare CEO has been in the Keystone State for “several days” after the deadly attack, according to police.

Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens said police are working to determine where the suspect went after the murder of Brian Thompson.

“We know he’s been in Pennsylvania for several days, so part of that investigation will also focus on trying to retrace his steps,” Bivens said.
