Helen Flanagan has hit back at “mean” trolls who branded her face a “disaster” while taking aim at her excessive lip fillers.
The former Coronation Street star, 32, came under fire after posting a video of herself getting ready for a night out in Liverpool, where she showed off her heavily lined lips.
Helen took to her Instagram Stories on Sunday night, where she shared a glimpse of some of the hate comments she received, including one that said her lips looked like a ‘baboon a**’.
She wrote: “I never understand why people can be so mean. It doesn’t really matter what someone looks like. If you have a good heart, you’re beautiful anyway.”
The comments emerged on a video of the actress looking glamorous for the evening, and in the clip Helen is first seen without make-up with a towel on her head as she leans over to check her complexion.
She then transformed in the video, sporting a full makeup look with her locks styled in glamorous waves.

However, while many praised her glamorous appearance, many were quick to slam her appearance, calling her lips “ridiculous” and too big.
In January 2023, Helen revealed that she had had lip fillers just one month after undergoing breast augmentation.
The former soap opera star shared a video of herself applying lipstick while detailing the reasons for her latest cosmetic procedure.
She said: I have big lips, but my bottom lip was bigger and since I’ve been overlining my top lip, I wanted a little filler to even them out.
Mother-of-three Helen admitted she had also had Botox in the past and advised: “Don’t do anything when you’re too young.”
She continued: ‘I’m 32 now. I have Botox and that is my choice. I support women in any decision they make. I thought about this for a long time before moving forward.’
Helen’s cosmetic doctor, Dr Natalie Haworth, told MailOnline: ‘The treatment Helen received with me at my clinic based in Whalley in Lancashire, The Doctor & Company, is what I like to call a “touch-up”.
“A little adjustment here and there achieves a more natural result and is quickly becoming the go-to look for 2023.”

This isn’t the first time Helen has had to respond to trolls commenting on her plump lips.
In a video posted in July, Helen responded to a critic who told her to “stop sticking out her lips” in all of her photos, while telling them that women should “lift up” each other.
In the original post about her hair extensions, Helen wrote: “Can’t wait to get my extensions back in tomorrow.” Extensions in and much more confidence x
‘My hair is so fine, I wish I had naturally thick hair x I don’t know if having the kids so close together made my hair worse or if it’s just stressing me out x’

In a video posted in July, Helen responded to a critic who told her to “stop sticking out her lips” in all of her photos, while telling them that women should “lift up” each other.
But she was forced to respond when one person felt the need to ask: ‘I like following you and your page, I just wonder why you have to constantly stick your lips out without stopping.’ You are beautiful and great mom, but in every photo and post it is you with your mouth open showing your pout.’
Commenting below the post, Helen replied: ‘I naturally have big lips and that’s just my face x it shouldn’t bother you so much x women should encourage each other x’
“No, you have inflated your lips with fillers, there is nothing natural,” another troll responded.
Helen added: “I’ve had some on my top lip to even it out as my bottom lip is big.” Why say it in such a malicious way? What’s wrong with women filling their lips?
