Jane Seymour praises the power of authenticity as she looks back on her successful career.
talking to People At The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Gala, she offered some of the wisdom she’d gained during her career.
‘Don’t take it for granted. It’s not easy,” he told the outlet on Wednesday. “The balance between how you behave and how you carry yourself is huge, unfortunately.”
Seymour, 73, also stressed the importance of perseverance, advising older actresses to stay true to themselves and avoid pretending to be in their twenties.
‘But I have never given up either. Now I have my own show again and I’m over 70,” Jane, who currently stars in Harry Wild, continued.
‘That’s why I tell women: “Don’t give up and be authentic.” Don’t pretend to be 20 when you’re 70. Be 70.’

At the event, Jane wowed in a sexy and sleek metallic dress that fell just above her knees and was paired with tan heels.
Jane was among a host of stars who attended the evening, including Selena Gomez, who was honored with the Equity in Entertainment Award.
It’s not just the entertainment industry that is impressed with Selena, but also with Seymour.
“I just watched Selena’s movie last night,” the Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman star told People about Selena’s new movie, Emilia Perez. ‘I was impressed. Everyone was amazing. There are so many incredible young actresses… they are honored today for very good reasons. “Crossing genres and doing both is fantastic.”
Accomplished actress Seymour currently stars in the Irish drama series Harry Wild, airing from 2022.
Seymour has also won an Emmy in the past, having won Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Special honors at the 1988 Primetime Emmys for her role as Maria Callas in Onassis: The Richest Man in the World.
She is also the mother of six adult children: Jenni, 44, Katherine, 42, Sean, 39, Kalen, 56, and twins John and Kristopher, 29.
Seymour is dating musician John Zambetti, 75, who has performed for decades with the band The Malibooz.
Seymour also stressed the importance of perseverance and advised actresses to remain true to themselves.
The Somewhere in Time actress’ most recent romance before the musician was with film producer David Green, whom they dated for almost a decade.
Seymour said The times in April 2023 that Green, 76, had proposed to her in the past, but felt that exchanging vows with him “would be the most horrible thing in the world” in terms of their relationship dynamic.
He added: “I just said I would never put a number to his name.”

Seymour has been married four times in the past: to Michael Attenborough between 1971 and 1973; Geoffrey Planer between 1977 to 1978; David Flynn, from 1981 to 1992; and James Keach from 1993 to 2015.
She told The Times that despite the divorces, she remained “very, very close to all the men I was married to and all the men I dated.”
‘Every time I see someone I was involved with, even for a short time, I feel close to them. You see, I think it’s hard to be with someone you know and on the red carpet.
Speaking to People in 2012, Seymour said the most important lesson she learned from her marriages was to “let go” of painful things and “try to find a way to communicate and keep the good in the relationship.”
