A woman who underwent routine surgery claims she woke up without an extra organ.
Bella, 23, underwent surgery earlier this year to treat her endometriosis, a painful condition that causes tissue similar to the lining of the uterus to grow outside the uterus.
Diagnosed with a moderate form of the condition, Bella had become accustomed to intense pain and procedures to remove cysts that form in the tissue.
But when he woke up from surgery, doctors told him they didn’t just remove the growths.
Bella said, ‘You know what’s crazy? I had surgery for endometriosis, right, and I woke up and they said, “Hey, we took out your appendix.”
Although doctors assured her that the disease had not spread to her appendix, it was removed as a precaution so that appendicitis could be ruled out if she had further pelvic pain.
In a TikTok video posted last week, which garnered 500,000 views, Bella said: ‘So you took my entire organ that was healthy and totally normal just so someone would believe me in the future?’
Bella is far from the only patient to come out of surgery without an organ that wasn’t supposed to be removed.

Earlier this year, William Bryan, 70, died after doctors removed his liver instead of his spleen during emergency surgery.
And last year, George Piano, 72, of Washington, was supposed to have his appendix removed, but doctors removed part of his large intestine. This caused him to develop serious infections in his intestine that leaked contents into his abdomen.
In a follow-up clip, which has since been deleted, she approved surgery to remove the IUD and ‘endometriosis excision’.
This is usually a laparoscopic procedure, which involves making a small incision and then inserting a tube into the abdomen with a camera, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
However, he states that the surgical documentation also included “laparoscopic appendectomy.”
Bella said, “So no, I didn’t approve of this.”
She said she was warned that her endometriosis could have spread to her appendix, bladder, colon or uterus, and she agreed to have surgery on those organs if necessary.
However, he was told that his appendix was completely healthy.
The appendix has long been considered useless, although recent research suggests it may have unseen benefits.

While many TikTokers said they had also had an appendectomy when they had other surgeries, they noted that their doctors had asked them first.
