A drunk driver has admitted crashing into a newlywed couple and killing her on their wedding night.
Jamie Lee Komoroski admitted Monday in court in Charleston, South Carolina, to reckless homicide for the April 2023 killing of 34-year-old Samantha Miller.
She also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence and two counts of driving under the influence causing further bodily harm or death. Miller’s new husband Aric Hutchinson was also seriously injured after being struck by Komoroski while he and his new wife were riding on a golf cart after their Folly Beach wedding.
Komoroski wore a black suit and appeared to have gained weight ahead of Monday’s court appearance, which was scheduled as a trial after she previously denied the allegations. Jurors were to be chosen from a pool, but the killer’s lawyers instead indicated they wanted to enter a guilty plea.
She looked somber as she entered the courtroom to enter the plea that could land her in prison for up to 25 years. Komoroski did not take a plea deal, meaning a judge does not have to show her leniency because she spared Miller’s family a trial.
Komoroski was traveling at a shocking speed of 60 miles per hour at the time of the crash. Her blood alcohol level was reportedly three times the legal limit at the time of the crash.
Miller tragically died at the scene of the crash – just hours after exchanging vows with Hutchinson – still in her wedding dress.
Hutchinson, who survived the crash, suffered two broken legs, extensive facial fractures and traumatic brain injuries.

Komoroski was initially held in custody without bond before being released on a $150,000 bond in March 2024.
Since then, she has been under house arrest pending her trial.
In March, exclusive footage obtained by DailyMail.com showed Komoroski settling into her new home in an upscale enclave of Charleston – a world away from the cell she shared for 10 months at Al Canon Detention Center, North Charleston.
Komoroski was considerably heavier than the figure captured last April and was able to enjoy the apartment’s spacious, screened-in balcony on the sultry South Carolina day.

Joined by her mother, Traci, 60, father Charles, 60, and brother, also Charles, 23, Komoroski seemed relaxed and cheerful as her family members brought new belongings and all the comfort she needed to her new pad.
Under the strict conditions of her bond, Komoroski cannot leave her apartment for anything other than “medical emergencies” or court-ordered dates.
She must wear a GPS and SCRAM ankle bracelet – a device that monitors alcohol consumption every thirty minutes by monitoring sweat.
